TIMUR FAYZIEV

He began his professional career in 1965 on being admitted into the prestigious Moscow State Academy of Choreography. As soon as he came into contact with the discipline, Timur was spellbound by the magic of ballet and its world. From a very young age, thanks to his talent and dedication to the discipline of ballet, he earned the reward of being able to dance at the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow. Later on, he continued his studies in the Stanislavsky Theatre, where he has been working professionally for 21 years.

From 1971 he stood out as the principal dancer in plays like “Emerald”, “Cinderella” and “Coppelia”, and gained good reviews from these years in the whole of Moscow.

His great interest and challenge was to use the method studied, the Stanislavsky method of interpretation, to create dance gestures. He rejected the idea of pompous theatre and of excessive support for the character from the wardrobe or scenography, and even from perfect but cold movements of the dancer.

According to Timur, these perfect movements must be supported from within on a few solid feelings. The dancer should thus feel this maze of sensations that are produced on the stage, where everything flows magically and where communication with the audience is achieved.

At the end of the 1980´s he founded his own academy of dance, thereby continuing this tireless search for the magic of ballet. Later in 1989 he created his own company.

All of his company’s performances bear the hallmark of being constructed from the laws of the drama scene. They each investigate the psychology of the characters and educate the dancers, who mentally absorb every moment of the performance.

Qualities such as a dramatic temperament, virtuoso skill and the artistic creation of characters form the distinctive features of this Company´s artists.
